This single Roman column was quarried in Egypt sometime around 300-400AD for a (since destroyed) Roman Building. The column was presented to the City of Toronto as a token of the friendship the two cities share.
The column was presented to Toronto in 1957 by the Hon. Umberto Tupini, Mayor of the City of Rome.
