Even so, there exists a decent collection of art at this relatively small facility and it currently contains over 900 pieces of classical European, Asian, and modern art. A sample of Modern Art at the Chazen In 2009, a new phase of the museum began to double the size of its current holdings with a new 55,000 square-foot building that will hold over 1800 works of art. The plan includes an expanded Asian exhibit as well as a new African Art exhibit and a new theater that will have lectures and films.
