Mozingo Music has a rich heritage with deep roots in the local school music programs. School music was the passion of our founder and namesake Don Mozingo back in 1972. After a few different tries in different areas of West County, we settled at our current location in 1979. It was basically just a house, but Don managed to do school repairs and have a show floor in the meager 900 sq. ft. building. Eventually lesson studios were added in the basement. Much of what you see around the store now was not here. Clarkson Rd. was just a little two lane. As the area grew, so did the store. A major addition project in 1989 completes the Mozingo Music building you see today. Education and service were at the forefront of that expansion with a whole floor dedicated to lesson studios and additional space for a larger repair facility. The early nineties were prosperous, and the time had come for the next generation to take over the business. Don retired and handed the reigns over to his two sons, Jeff and David Mozingo. Jeff and David have kept the emphasis on education and service as the store has moved forward. In 2005 the store was remodeled again to keep up with the demand for private lessons. Additional studios and an ensemble room were added. March 1st 2006 marked the opening of another store in O'Fallon, MO serving St. Charles county. Under the same ideals instilled from the beginning, the O'Fallon location has a full lesson facility and showroom. May of 2008 brought the addition of "The Stage," a 50 seat performance/multipurpose venue located at the O'Fallon location. The Stage gives us the ability not only to help young musicians learn, but also a place to perform.The plan has been the same since the beginning.
