The fernery was officially opened by the Orange Mayor (Mr W. F. Matthews) on Valentines Day 1938. The fernery now houses a range of ferns, bromiliades and other indoor plants. One part of the greenhouse has a different display depending on the time of year. As Christmas has just passed the display had a festive feel to it.
