This sign is right on the AT at the turn where trail comes down from Temple Hill and heads over a bridge on the Nolichucky River to Jones Branch section. Katahdin 1822.4 miles to the north - Springer 337.9 miles South.

This hostel is heavily used by thru-hikers for a much needed "zero day". I could not find anything besides the white blazes where the AT leaves the roadway (see the gallery), but this hostel has a nice large AT symbol.
I work with the Tennessee Eastman Hiking Club which maintains the AT in northeast Tennessee. Have hiked both of the directions from this point. Temple Hill is a real climb from this direction. Love the different seasons on the trail, so hope you can get your sections hiked.
