The piers at the entrance to the Burlington Bay Canal provide an excellent view of Hamilton's famous steel mills.

To get here, take the driveway at N43 17.823 W79 47.673 to reach the parking lot. From the parking lot, walk to your left along the canal board walk until you reach the pier. There is ample space here for your photography equipment. This location is not advised on windy days as you are completely not sheltered from prevailing winds (or waves) here, and the waters of the Bay are unforgiving.
If you look across the bay to the west, you will see the Steel Mills and downtown Hamilton. The mills have large flames that erupt from the stacks that will light the smoke and steam well.
The mills operate 24x7, so any time it's dark you'll be able to see the show.
