A Ranger lead tour, by boat, of the inside perimeter of Crater Lake's caldera. The sparkling clear water of this lake, with depths of a hundred feet that appear only ten feet deep at times, combined with the geological history talks of the crater itself is very enjoyable. There is an option to stop off at Wizard Island for a self guided hike to the smaller crater's summit. If you are brave, jumping off the docks at Wizard Island is allowed. Just remember that the lake's surface water temperature averages 32ºF to 66ºF but the overall temperature is a fairly consistent 38ºF!
If you are lucky, you will see the "Old Man of the Lake" while taking the tour!
Note: Be prepared for a strenuous 1+ mile hike down into the crater to reach the boat docks. It is an almost 700 foot elevation change from the parking lot on the crater's rim.
