In 1921 the owner of one of the biggest shipping companies in Norway, Knut Knutsen O.A.S., donated 1 million kroners to get a town hall in Haugesund.
Haugesund Town Hall is famous for its architecture inspired from Italy.
And it is also famous for its pink façade.
In 1947 Elisabeth Knutsen, the wife of Knut donated money for the piazetta and the inside decoration of the town hall.
