Waterloo Records opened its doors on April 1, 1982. It was originally 2/3 mi. South of where it is now, in a 1200 sq. ft. space. The current space is 6,400 sq. ft.
Waterloo has been voted Best Record Store in the Austin Chronicle every year since it opened.
Customers may listen to any album in the store before buying, even if it has to be opened. Customers have ten days after purchasing a record to return it, even if it's been opened and played, no questions asked, for a full exchange.
The store carries both new and used records and CDs.
