A very interesting are, filled with the same kind of escape that any park you might escape.

Red Rock Canyon was designated as Nevada's first National Conservation Area. Red Rock Canyon is located 17 miles west of the Las Vegas Strip on Charleston Boulevard/State Route 159. The area is 195,819 acres and is visited by more than one million people each year. In marked contrast to a town geared to entertainment and gaming, Red Rock Canyon offers enticements of a different nature including a 13-mile scenic drive, more than 30 miles of hiking trails, picnic areas, and visitor center with exhibit rooms and a book store.
The Scenic Drive hours are:
November 1 through February 28/29; 6 a.m. – 5 p.m.
March 1 through March 31; 6 a.m. – 7 p.m.
April 1 through September 30; 6 a.m. – 8 p.m.
October 1 through October 31; 6 a.m. – 7 p.m.
The Red Rock Overlook on SR 159 (W. Charleston Blvd) is open for one additional hour.
The Visitor Center hours are:
8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
