San Pasqual Battlefield State Historic Park, honors the soldiers who fought in the battle between the U.S. and Californio forces on December 6, 1846 in the midst of the Mexican-American War.

This reenactment shows the horseback battle between the US Army and Californios. The US troops used swords and the Californios used swords and lances. The US Army had one canon.

18 US soldiers were killed and at least one Californio. The battle lasted about 30 minutes that day. It continued the next day a few miles away at Mule Hill near Rancho Bernardo.
