Monteola was a hamlet in the northeast part of the the Town of Osceola that is now abandoned, with no permanent population and no public road to access it. The only access is by the abandoned G & W railroad bed. There are a handful of shelters and cabins located around several large ponds that were created by the many beavers that inhabit the area. These cabins are owned by private individuals who hunt and trap the beavers in the area. The area is not accessible during the winter months, as the snow gets several feet deep and the only access to the area is via an old railroad bed that is no longer in use. The cabin included in the gallery is privately owned.
