Compared to the busy street of Massachusetts Avenue two blocks away, this section of Franklin Street was serene in the early morning hours. Accross from a high rise residential tower and the Central Square Branch Library, there is a white church with modest stained glass windows, which is the Cambridge First Church of the Nazarene.
The English service is at 10:45 am on Sunday. Parking might be available on the street (Franklin is one way going east), but there is a parking garage nearby with an entrance on Green Street, the next street over from Franklin (not sure if there is a fee on Sunday). There are also services for Haitian and Portugese congregations.
The programs provided include bible study 'cell groups', childrens' services, and support groups.
The web site states that this congregation has been serving the Cambridge community for over 100 years, but it doesn't state exactly when it was founded.
