Great Mis Tor is a massive tor not far from the River Walkham with heavy clitter which runs down the west side of the tor to the river. It has a military flagpole in its summit. The tor itself is outside the live firing range which means you can visit the tor when the flag is flying but you are unable to go further passing the range poles which are on the North and east sides of the tor. It would probably be best to visit on a non firing day. There are two range huts on the tor one for the range warden and the other for his horse.
Dartmoor's Ancient Boundary Perambulation. (50 Miles)
The Perambulation marks the boundary of the ancient forest of the moor and is one of the oldest walks on Dartmoor. From Rundlestone, the route heads through Great Mis Tor and Yes Tor, King's Oven, Dartmeet and Ryder's Hill. At Eastern White Barrow the Perambulation reaches its most southerly point and returns to Rundlestone via Siward's Cross. There is not a public right of way over the whole route but short deviations enable the walk to be completed.
