The Zion United Church was built 1906-1907 as a Methodist Church. The Romanesque styled church featuring pillars and dome reminiscent of the Pantheon in Rome was designed by Winnipeg architect James Chisholm patterning the church after a Methodist church in Winnipeg (the Winnipeg church has since burned). The church became the Zion United Church in 1925 when the Presbyterian, Congregationalist, Methodist and the General Council of Local Union Churches in Canada joined to form the United Church of Canada. The church has added an education wing and the sanctuary had some structural deficiencies corrected in the 1970s. The church continues to serve its congregation.
Year of construction: 1906
