Originally the Fire Station Serving this area now superceded by a new upmarket Station at Great Holm.
This served as Stony Stratford’s Fire Station for almost a hundred years. The town suffered a series of devastating fires in 1703, 1725,1736,1742.1863.

ONE HUNDRED YEARS AGO A DISASTEROUS FIRE OCCURRED IN STONY STRATFORD AS A RESULT THE INHABITANTS OF THE DISTRICT CONTRIBUTED TO PROVIDE A NEW FIRE STATION AND FIRE ENGINE.
THE FIRE STATION WAS OCCUPIED CONTINUOUSLY BY
THE STONY STRATFORD VOLUNTEER FIRE BRIGADE LATER TO BECOME PART OF THE NATIONAL FIRE SERVICE AND RECENTLY BUCKINGHAMSHIRE FIRE
BRIGADE UNTIL IT WAS CLOSED IN 1958 AND CONVERTED TO A LIBRARY.
