Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens is located on Victoria Street at Spring Street on the North East part of downtown Melbourne, Australia.
Originally built to host the Mebourne Internation Exhibition in 1880 and 1888, the building continues the thrive as on the Carlton Gardens grounds as a part of the Museum Victoria. Today it is still used to host events, especially those related to the museum.
Architected by Joseph Reed, the building's designed was inspired by Italian Renaissance style buildings and very much fit the mold of the other exhibition halls built for the world's fairs that were held in the late 1800s.
The building was the first meeting place for the Parliament of Australia and for 25 years was the home of the State of Victoria.
