St.Anthony's church is also known as "Cartmel Fell church" the church was built in 1504 and apart from the addition of a South porch has hardly changed over the centuries,in fact this is part of the charm of this simple old church.
Build originally as a chapel of ease for the local farming community, the church is pretty remote and not easy to find amidst the maze of narrow country roads around the area.
There are some fine examples of stained glass windows in the church including one which was arranged by the finding of a large quantity of stained glass behind an internal wall in 1911,the glass turned out to be 15th.century.
