The Singapore Flyer is located on the edge of the marina. At 165 meters, its location affords wonderful views of the city and attractions. Some of them are:

Singapore F1 Grand Prix: At the base of the wheel is the location where the first Singapore F1 Grand Prix on 28 September 2008. Most of the course is visible from the wheel. (More Information)

Merlion: The famous Merlion Statue is visible from the wheel. I was on at night, so was unable to get pictures of this amazing statue.

Singapore City View: The city is full of skyscrapers with lots of lights.

Boarding the wheel
When visited the wheel, I was lucky in that there was no line to board. Other times, there can be significant waits. There are several options that you can choose from when you purchase your ticket.
  • Traditional flight that lasts 30 minutes
  • Express boarding which can get you around the lines
  • Signature Cocktail flight which gets you express boarding and cocktails
  • Moët & Chandon Champagne Flight which allows you to toast your flight with champagne
After your ticket is collected, you have to go through security screening. Similar to going to an airport.

The you go to a room with a "green screen" background. A photograph is taken that simulates you in the capsule soaring over the city. They take four pictures at a time, so the wait is short and you get only your party in your shot.

Next you board your capsule with your co-flyers and off you got for a thirty minute ride.

The end of the flight drops you off in the gift shop where you can purchase your personal photo that was taken before you boarded or other Singapore flyer themed items.

The singapore flyer has a webpage for more information.
