Parliament of State of Victoria is located on Spring Street halfway between Treasury Garden and Carlton Gardens in Melbourne, Australia.

Architected by Peter Kerr and John George Knight, the first phase of the building was completed 1856. The West facing facade, as seen my photos was completed in 1888. Follow-on phases were built-on over the years with the most recent being in 1929 completion of the North-East Wing.

The State of Victoria was created when Queen Victoria signed the Australian Constitutions Act of 1850. That act separated the Victoria from New South Wales; in 1851, the official separation took effect. Source: Australian Founding Documents

The Parliament House is open during normal business hours for tours, but only when Parliament is not sitting. You should check the website before you visit.

The Parliament of Victoria is located in a historic area of Melbourne. The City Museum, St Patrick's Cathedral, Tianjin Garden, Princess's Theatre, and the Royal Exhibition Building are all in close walking distance.
