This waymark is for the Duke of Bedford Cottages known as Westbridge Cottages, there's about 50 of them all in short rows along side the River Tavy.
The Duke of Bedford built many buildings in Tavistock and the surrounding area usually putting a date on them.
There is a plaque which is painted over and hard to read in the centre of the most easterly row of cottages. I have photographed the first row, the end nearest the road has B 1850.
