The building originally opened July 16, 1910 as a passenger station for the Wabash Railroad. After serving in that capacity for many years the building was vacant. After renovations which completed in 2007 the old station became the main hub for the Columbia Transit.
Interesting architecture:
The station is in a Tudor-Gothic design which mimics the design of the White Campus buildings at the University of Missouri.
