Peter Straub began as a brewer near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1832. In 1872, he left the Pittsburgh area and founded the Straub Brewery in what was then Benzington, Pennsylvania. Over 100 years later, the name of the town has since changed to St. Mary's, but the brewery remains in its familiar location.
Today the brewery offers a full-line of beers containing, "no sugars, no salts, and no preservatives. Visitors to the brewery can stop for a tour of the facility, enjoy refreshments from the eternal tap and stop for a lighter with the company's Bavarian Man logo in the souvenir shop.
