St.Mary's church stands in the hamlet of Whitbeck,2.5 miles inland from the West coast of Cumbria.and to the South of the village of Bootle.
The church has a 2 bell turret and stands at the foot of Black Combe Mountain,many Fell walks start from the church here.
The church is located a few miles North of Millom town off the A595,and is to the South of Ravenglass.
In the churchyard is an interesting memorial erected by parishioners commemorates those who fell in WWI.
