Durham Bulls Athletic Park (or DBAP) opened in 1995. The Bulls moved from historic Durham Athletic Park (DAP) which was built in 1926. The old ballpark is still standing and is familiar to many from the movie "Bull Durham". DPAP itself was featured in the 2002 movie "The Rookie".

DPAP seats 10,000 fans and is built in the now classic "brick ballpark" style. Some features of the old DAP were moved to the new ballpark, including the "Blue Monster" bull sign in the outfield. When the Bulls hit a home run, this bull waves its tail, its eyes light up red and smoke comes out of its nostrils. This sign was modeled after the bull used in the 1987 film, "Bull Durham." The actual Bull from the movie is hung in the concourse level of the DBAP.
