There is a state park on the US side of the border and a provincial park on the Canadian side.
A 1936 sign on the arch reads:
This unfortified boundary line between the Dominion of Canada and the United States of America should quicken the remembrance of the more than a century old friendship between these countries. A lesson of peace to all nations.
A 1964 sign on the arch reads:
In commemoration of one hundred and fifty years of peace, 1814 - 1964 between Canada and the United States of America. The signing of the Columbia River Treaty on September 16th 1964, at this International Peace Arch Park by the President of the United States, Lyndon B. Johnson and the Prime Minister of Canada, the Right Honorable Lester B. Pearson P.C.

May the portal never be closed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Peacearch-washingtonplaque.jpg#filelinks The only thing missing from the arch that I am aware of is the lights that illuminated this arch in the 1920's and 1930's.
