For their modest stature The Fells of Stickle Pike and Great stickle are rugged, and are brilliant viewpoints.
Stickle Pike rises from the Duddon Valley, and Wainwright describes the Fell as a budding Matterhorn.
The summit is topped with a rocky outcrop, atop this is a man made cairn, which is a prominent landmark for those walking between the 2 fells, rocky seats have been fashioned from conveniently placed lumps of slate, from here the views are extensive and the Scafells can be seen to the North along with the Pillar group and the Coniston range.
The view to the Irish sea is to the West, and The Isle of Man can be seen on clear days.
A few couple of hundred feet below the summit is Stickle Tarn,a lovely place on a hot summer's day.
Altitude in Feet: 1231
