Tent Girl was buried as an unknown murder victim in the Georgetown Cemetery. A headstone with her "information" was placed by local citizens and a monument company. Her grave was tended to for over 30 years until she was identified after the internet led an amateur investigator to identify her.

It is thought she was murdered by her husband but he died in the 1980's before her identity was known. The story of "Tent Girl" was featured on an episode of "48 Hours". Her family came to visit her grave and an additional stone was added to the site with her real name, birthdate and presumed date of death. Her family chose to leave her where she was buried because the people of Georgetown cared so much for her. As you can see by the flowers on her grave she is still visited frequently.
