The Purbeck Line runs both steam and diesel locomotives and provides a scenic way of travel to explore this beautiful area with the Jurassic Coast and many attractions. The nearby Swanage Heritage Centre, Corfe Castle and the Information Centre and the new Clay Mining display at Norden all show the unique and varied history.

There are five stations along the line including Swanage, Herston Halt, Harmans Cross, Corfe Castle an Norden. The railway takes you through gorgeous countryside with spectacular views. Swanage Railway is a busy, seaside line and has a volunteer workforce on a private line which have worked tremendously hard to get the line back into working order. We have watched the progress over the years as one station became two and now the line continues past Norden eventually linking up with Wareham and beyond!

There is a special dining train which runs on Saturday nights and for special occasions called the Wessex Belle. There are others which run on weekdays.
