This massive propeller is 18 feet in diameter and weighs 31000 pounds. It was manufactured in 1948 by Bethlehem Steel in Staten Island, New York. The propeller was provided by the Maritime Administration (MARAD) Department of Transportation.

"The Victory Ship propeller represents Sealift, the sea mode of the Defense Transportation System, and United States Transportation Command's partnerships with its Navy Component Command, Military Sealift Command, MARAD, the US Maritime Industry, and the US Merchant Marine."
