The anchor is between the Poole Museum and the Custom House. These are historic buidings in Poole town. Unfortunately we can not find any more information on the anchor perhaps future visitors can help us out?
The museum is free to enter and there are many restaurants and pubs nearby, including one in the Custom House featuring this anchor in its picture here visit link
