The Waterworks Bridge is a pipe carrying and footbridge which carries water from Thirlmere in The Lake District of Cumbria to the City of Manchester in the North of England.
Carved in the stonework at the SW end of the bridge can be seen flood level markers,showing the height to which the river has rose.
The heights are.
August 25th.1891,September 2nd.1892 and the highest marker being about 8 feet above normal on the 27th.January 1902.
