Upon acquiring the land, in 1984, Jerry and Carolyn built a log cabin and a small barn to house various breeds of farm livestock. Their decision to raise llamas came in 1998, and now they have one of the largest Llama Farms in the Southeast.
They currently raise about 50 llamas that are sheared annually to produce beautiful silky llama fiber that is processed into spinning rovings, yarn and scarves. Approximately 15 baby llamas (crias) are born each year.
