I've driven by here many times. Even if you don't smoke its worth a stop to see a gorgeous old store. Located in the Hazardville historic center, the building used to be pharmacy. With the wood trim and old counter this still has the feel of an old store. The store is decorated with civil war items. They have a very nice selection of cigars.
On my visit, I was able to buy a couple cigars that contain tobacco grown in Connecticut. Battleground Cigars (based at this store) produces cigars that are wrapped in Connecticut shade and broadleaf tobacco. The store's civil war theme accompanies the line of hand rolled cigars produced here.
On their website, you can see what cigars they sell, lots of information about the store, Battle ground Cigars and a history of Connecticut's tobacco industry. My camera had trouble focusing because of all the glass, luckily the website has better pictures of the store.
