Immortalised in stone by sculptor Jonathan Sells from Corfe Castle these historic figures are of high importance. Captain Lewis Tregonwell from the Dorset Rangers was the founder of Bournemouth in 1811. C.C. Creeke was the first Town Surveyor & Inspector of Nuisances.

The statue features the three local holders of the Victoria Cross and was presented to the town by the Mayor and Mayoress of Bournemouth in 1998-1999.
