St. Catherine's was built in 1887,though still retains a 14th. century bell from an earlier church which once stood on this site.
The church which has a wide nave and aisles was designed by Stephen Shaw.
The style of the church is late perpendicular with an unbuttressed West tower.
On our arrival at the church on the day we visited for waymarking purposes,we saw a large notice pinned to the main entrance door saying " cyclists welcome please come in" the church obviously caring for passing cyclists, when we entered the church there was a table laiden with bottled water, cups and chocolate biscuits, with a note saying "cyclists please help yourself"myself being a mere walker could only gaze on the offerings, though we still left a donation on our departure.
