John Perkin has some excellent details on this cliff lift here: (

'Opened in 1935 by the borough engineer, Mr F P Delamore, Fisherman's Walk Cliff Railway is by far the youngest of the town's three lines. Designed to serve the Southbourne and Boscombe promenades, Fishermans Walk Cliff Railway is very similar to its earlier counterparts. The line carried two 12-seater passenger cars and was originally wound by a 21 h.p. 500V DC motor. This was replaced in the 1960s. Just as in the case of the East Cliff and West Cliff railways, the cliff railway at Fisherman's Walk has entrance buildings at both ends of the line. However, the concrete cliff terracing only appears on the eastern side of the track here.
All three of Bournemouth's cliff railways are open between April and October.'
The hours of operation are between 9.30am to 5.30pm during school term time and 9.30am to 6.15pm during school holidays.
The overcliff area is a protected site home to much wildlife and flora. The lifts pass over this land and offer a unique opportunity to have a close look on ascent and descent over the cliff face. There are fantastic views from the top over to the Isle of Wight and Purbecks and of the beach below. The co-ordinates are taken from the top of the lift next to the entrance kiosk.
