The sundial is vertically mounted over the west door of St John the Baptist Parish Church in Westfield, East Sussex.
This would appear to be Charles I era being marked CR 1626. The church web site states that this was installed much later though. It gives no date nor origin of the sundial.
However the blade is dated 1916 and bears the Italien inscription "Vuoi Saper Lora Che? Tel Dico Presto".
I understand this means "Do you want to know the time? I will tell you soon".
