Northernmost Beach (and point) in United States on the Arctic Ocean where the Chukchi Sea and Beaufort Sea meet. It is desolate and beautiful, over 350 miles inside the Arctic Circle, yet still over 1100 miles from the North Pole.

There are two ways to get there - in the summer time in a 4 wheel drive vehicle, and in the winter time by snow mobile. The only man made object you see is a couple dumpsters where the residents of Barrow (about 9 miles south) place what little is left over from the whales they catch - this is to keep the Polar Bears away from the city.
To get there in the summer time, contact a local tour company (Arctic Adventures is who we used) to get you there. Or you could walk the 9 miles, but seriously, look out for Polar Bears as it is their turf. And Polar Bears are known to stalk and attack humans. We did not see any when were there.
The only activities avaialable there are simple - get there. Nothing is there. You could go swimming in the Arctic Ocean to join the Polar Bear club. We went wading. Only 4 wheel drives or ATVs or snowmobiles in winter would even make it there, road is NOT paved.
