The signpost is located near the Garden Maze. The directors of the children's area wanted to show children how far away the big cities were and the directions in which they would have to travel to get there. It was fun to see which cities were listed and how far away from Huntsville, Alabama they were.

Location nearest to where you live now:
I didn't find any sign that would be close to where we live now. I did get a good chuckle over the arrows at the top of the signpost--"The Moon" and the "International Space Station." Since Huntsville is a big space oriented city, it seemed appropriate to have a mileage marker to the moon and the International Space Staton.
