Pegasus has been flying over the Air Force Academy Cadet area since it was built in 1965. As many cadets go on to be pilots and astronauts, this icon is in addition to the Falcon mascot of their sports teams. Once on the roof of a dormitory, it is now in place in front of the alumni building. At an altitude of 7049 feet above sea level, this Pegasus seems half-way to the sky already.
