The Planetarium in the Neils Science Center provides a teaching and outreach avenue at Valparaiso University. The planetarium is used with introductory astronomy lab courses as well as in the bi-weekly astronomy public outreach. When adverse weather prevents the use of the observatory on scheduled public open house nights, the planetarium is used to give the public a tour of the night sky for the current time of year, specifically, identifying and locating constellations, planets, and other astronomical objects. Groups may also request private planetarium programs.
