The total area of the garden is about 6 hectares. It includes a 2 hectares of natural forest of cool, continental forest vegetation of hornbeam mixed maple woodland, which is an exlusive speciality of the Gödöllo Hills and which has a national importance. A similar area of plots of herbaceous plants has been kept for scientific research. The garden includes a collection of agricultural plants (about 120 species) and a phylogenetical systematic collection (approx. 600 sp.). The latter contains mainly native Carpathian species. These two collections include herbs and protected plants as well.
