[FR] L'hotel Meurice fut le siège du commandement militaire du "gross-Paris". Le palace fut libéré le 25 août 1944 par le commandant de Laborie, le lieutenant Karcher et leurs hommes. Le général von Choltitz y signa le texte de la capitulation de Paris, rédigé par Leclerc.

[EN] The Hotel Meurice, Rue de Rivoli on the Right Bank was the lodging designated for the commanding governor - Dietrich von Choltitz. In the book “Is Paris Burning”, von Choltitz decided to ignore Hitler’s command to firebomb Paris.
