Meriwether-Clark Scout Reservation is the oldest camp owned by the Cascade Pacific Council. Purchased in 1926 from the Chamberlain family, Meriwether-Clark is located on the Oregon coast south of Cape Lookout. It has 2 miles of private beach, plus a freshwater lake, Lake Chamberlain. It also offers a high adventure hiking program. Its name comes from Meriwether Lewis and William Clark of the Lewis & Clark expedition, which wintered after reaching the Pacific Ocean at Ft. Clatsop a little farther north by the Columbia River.
