D'une altitude très précise de 25,408 m ce repère en bronze se frotte tous les jours à l'air iodé de la mer d'iroise.

-Il s'agit d'un repère de nivellement très exposé à l'air marin, donc très oxydé et en plus assez ancien.
Il orne le portail d'entrée d'un édifice fortifié par le célèbre ingénieur militaire Vauban et qui protège un phare magnifique qui a vu des générations de marins partir et revenir à Brest.
Si vous venez le voir sachez que les lieux sont visitables les samedis, dimanches, jours fériés et durant les vacances scolaires.
Enfin, près de ce repère IGN se trouve la géocache GC10X0C "Le minou" qui elle aussi vaut le déplacement.
- Pour valider votre découverte vous devrez joindre une photographie représentant une vue générale éloignée du portail d'entrée.
