The village of Talamone is historical in many ways. It was a port known in the middle ages. The port was used in 1865 by Garibaldi when he started his Thousand Man expedition to liberate and unify Italy. And Oliver North designated this small port when shipping arms to Iran to avoid scrutiny.

The beach is made of small rocks, with some protection from the sea provided by the rocky coastline nearby.

While access to the beach and coastline is free to the general public, the usage of chairs, shade umbrellas, small tables, showers, and changing room is not.

Because of the scarsity of rocky coastline on this stretch of the italian coastline, this port receives many sailing enthusiasts from the city of Rome, a good two hours drive away.
