This plaque found on the arrivals level of the Calgary International Airport. Calgary was one of many Canadian cities that opened its doors to American travellers in a time of great need.

To Calgary International Airport Staff and Volunteers and the people of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Presented in recognition of their outstanding assistance to travellers stranded in Calgary as a result of the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. They unselfishly gave their energy and compassion to thousands of passengers and crew members. The unwavering kindness and hospitality of the people of Calgary during one of the most difficult times in American history will always be remembered. The United States Consulate General in Calgary extends its warmest thanks and appreciation. September 11, 2003
