The granite for this impressive war memorial which is the centre piece of Northernhay Gardens came from Blackingstone Quarry on East Dartmoor.

The granite pedestal stands 20 feet high. The surmounting figure of VICTORY holds aloft a spray of laurels in token of gratitude to Heaven. Around the granite base sits a soldier, nurse, a sailor and a POW.
The total height is 31 feet.
