A World War I memorial flagpole by Evelyn Beatrice Batchelder Longman 1920.
As stated on west side inscription: THIS MEMORIAL ERECTED AD MCMXXI
Evelyn Beatrice Batchelder Longman (1874-1954) was the first woman sculptor to be elected a full member of the National Academy of Design in 1919. She is also noted for many other memorials, but I found it interesting that she also did the wreaths, eagles and inscriptions on the inner walls of the Lincoln Memorial.
Unfortunaltly this may be brought down due to irreversible water and elemental damage. Discussions are ongoing now to decide the fate of this memorial
